North Texas Street Project Area
Ryan's Automotive Service Center
  • Adopted on October 3, 1995
  • Approximately 406-acre project area
  • Located in central Fairfield.

North Texas Street is the central spine of the project area and a key north-south link in the City’s transportation network.  The area contains a mixture of buildings, small strip centers, and larger shopping centers.  Business types include offices, retail, and automobile repair and sales.  Public facilities in the area include Fairfield High School, Dover Middle School, Dickson Hill Water Treatment Plant, and two corporation yards.

The Agency is currently assisting with the redevelopment/reuse of the 18-acre former Mission Village Shopping Center and the 4.29-acre former Fairfield Bowl site.

Various redevelopment programs to foster economic revitalization in this project area are available.  The Redevelopment Agency offers a low interest loan program to businesses and property owners within the North Texas Street Corridor.  The loans are typically a source for supplemental project financing and can be used for property acquisition, rehabilitation and improvement, tenant improvements, and business working capital.  The Redevelopment Agency also offers a building façade improvement program, and provides assistance with development site selection and evaluation, and economic development facilitation for business attraction and expansion.
